Did you know that teshuvah (תְּשׁובָה), which is the Hebrew word for repentance, is an acronym for love, life and truly living?
The Hebrew Sages teach us that the way of teshuvah can be summed up in five verses whose first letters form the word “teshuvah” – TAV – SHIN – VAV – BET – HEY:
[2] SHIN – Shiviti Adonai (שִׁוִּיתִי יְהוָה) – “I have set the LORD always before me” (Psalms 16:8).
[3] VAV – Va‘ahavta lere’akha (וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ) – “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18).
[4] BET – Bekhol derakekha (בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶיךָ) – “In all your ways know Him” (Proverbs 3:6).
[5] HEY – Higid lekha (הִגִּיד לְךָ) – “Walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).
Therefore, the act of repentance can be basically summed up by the two greatest commandments : “Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, ‘Which is the first commandment of all?’ Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these’” (Mark 12:28-31 NKJV).
Therefore, to return or to turn to God, a person must focus on setting the LORD always before you by being wholehearted before God, by acknowledging Him in all your ways, and by walking humbly with your God. This will then enable you to love your neighbor as yourself; and thus, you will be more than a conqueror. You will be operating in the world’s greatest power – love:
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:37-39 NKJV).
“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah is God’s spiritual child and has been fathered by God himself. And everyone who loves Father God loves his children as well. This is how we can be sure that we love the children of God: by having a passionate love for God and by obedience to His commands. True love for God means obeying His commands, and His commands don’t weigh us down as heavy burdens. You see, every child of God overcomesthe world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. So who are the world conquerors, defeating its power? Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God” (1 John 5:1-3 TPT).

Even so, Amen. ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Revelation 1:4-8 NKJV).
Scripture reveals that a person’s obedience leads to righteousness (alignment with His righteousness) for holiness’ sake: “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of OBEDIENCE LEADING TO RIGHTEOUSNESS? God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness” (Romans 6:15-19 NKJV).
“If you choose to love sin, it will become your master, and it will own you and reward you with death. But if you choose to love and obey God, he will lead you into perfect righteousness… now surrender yourselves as servants of righteousness, which brings you deeper into true holiness.” (Romans 6:16,19 TPT).
Never ever forget that His generous and awesome grace has a purpose, and that purpose is obedience that brings honor to the Name above all names as well as empowering one’s own faith: “Through Him grace cascaded into us, empowering us with the gift of apostleship, so that we can win people from every nation into the obedience that comes from faith, to bring honor to His name” (Romans 1:5 TPT).
Obedience is love in action, and faith works by love: “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19 NKJV).

The catastrophe of the Golden Calf was precipitated by some very tragic errors. The first (and perhaps the biggest) error was that the people were looking more to the messenger of God – Moses – than to God Himself. Remember that the first commandment of the Big Ten to a Hebrew is to have faith in God’s existence and that He is eternal with complete, unfettered power: “I am HASHEM, your God, who has taken you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery” (Exodus 20:2).
The second error was the peoples’ expected outcome didn’t happen, so they turned to themselves and their own desires. When Moses ascended Mount Sinai on the seventh of Sivan, he had told the people that He would be there forty days. The children of Israel had counted the day of Moses ascent as the first of the forty days; however, that’s not what happened. Moses was in God’s Presence on Mount Sinai a full forty days and forty nights, which meant he returned on the seventeenth of Tammuz. Please refer to http://wp.me/p158HG-kH.
When God’s entire nation unanimously and enthusiastically accepted everything that God had said, the Lord told Moses that He would speak to him from the midst of a thick cloud and all the people were able to hear His Divine Voice. Thus, they all knew that Almighty God spoke to Moses. Once the nation agreed to accept God’s Word, the Lord instructed Moses on how the people should prepare. This took place on the fourth of Sivan, which was the first of a three-day waiting period: “HASHEM said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and they shall wash their clothing, Let them be prepared for the third day, for on the third day HASHEM shall descend in the sight of the entire people on Mount Sinai” (Exodus 19:10-11).
The third day in Exodus Chapter 19 was the sixth of Sivan. However, due to the quirkiness of a Hebrew day being sundown to sundown, three full days was the seventh of Sivan, which some believe was the actual day that His Ketubah (Marriage Contract) of the Ten Commandments was given. Heralded by lightening, smoke, fire, shofar blasts and seeing the sound of thunder, God’s Presence descended upon Mount Sinai. The out-of-this-world stage was set for His holy nation of priests. God’s declaration of the Ten Commandments was experienced by millions of people – His people – who had heartily accepted God as their One and Only Beloved.
This marriage of Creator with those created in His image was to be the fulfillment of Creation itself – oneness of heaven and earth. As a result, there would have been no more death. Their mortality would take on immortality: “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’” (1 Corinthians 15:53-54 NKJV).Thus, the world would have reverted to the perfection that existed at the beginning of Creation before The Fall. Alas, this perfected heavenly status on earth did not happen due to the grievous sin of the Golden Calf. The path of freedom from corruption was inscribed on the first Cubes of the Covenant (or as most people refer to them as the Tablets). Refer to https://sapphirethroneministries.wordpress.com/2017/06/03/quantum-pentecost-leap/ . They were an amazing and awe-inspiring physical embodiment of the Word of God, which was God’s own handiwork.
With the spiritual downfall of His Bride (i.e., God’s people), Moses was dismissed from his lofty perch in the Messiah – the Word of God – on the mountain of God. The term “revel” in the Exodus 32:6 phrase “The people sat to eat and drink, and they got up to revel,” implies that the people were guilty of three cardinal sins: idolatry, licentiousness (disregarding sexual restraints), and murder. They were copying the worship of the Golden Calf in Egypt where molten images, temple prostitution, and child sacrifice was commonly practiced on the birthday of the sun god, which was the ancient Winter Solstice of December 25th before the Roman shift in time. Here, they had manufactured a literal golden idol, had sex with one another, and had killed Hur who had attempted to restrain them.
We all know the story. When Moses smashed the “Tablets,” he destroyed God’s precious Marriage Contract with His people, which would not have been possible without supernatural enablement. The Sapphire Cubes of the Covenant (Original Ten Commandment Marriage Contract) signified a new and higher stage in God’s peoples standing that would have been reflected in their physical life as well. We are again at this juncture in history, so it would behoove us to pay attention to what stopped heaven overlaying on earth – the third dimension being overlaid with the fifth – the first time.
Never forget that the Ten Commandments in written form by the finger of God represents freedom from the evil inclination and from the Angel of Death. Sinai was Zion on the other side of the Cross of Christ. At Sinai, Is-real had elevated itself by choice to the level of Adam and Eve before they had sinned. Unfortunately, the earlier condition of spiritual and physical weakness returned.
There were three categories of punishment for the sin of the Golden Calf – the Golden Calf Triple. First were the people who were warned by witnesses to not serve any idol and they willfully did so anyway, which was punishable by the sword (Exodus 32:26-28). The radical and righteous tribe of Levites had joined Moses and were for God above their own countrymen. About three thousand men were decapitated that day. Willful idolatry speaks of how it separates the Head of the Messiah Yeshua from His Body: “And not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God” (Colossians 2:19 NKJV). “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—” (Ephesians 4:15 NKJV).
The second category of punishment for the sin of the Golden Calf was a plague. These were the people who worshiped the Golden Calf intentionally before witnesses, but they were basically clueless. Hebrew Sages say that these people had not been officially warned. However, they must have known in their gut (instinctively), else they would not have been subjected to a plague (Deuteronomy 28:58-59). This is pretty much where the whole wide world is today. Notice that a plague includes His mercy where He gives people time to repent. God’s ultimate desire is that people return (teshuvah) to life and to love and to Him. God’s law of love informs all others: “‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets’” (Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV).
The third punishment included all the people that vowed at Mount Sinai to marry Him: “Everything that HASHEM has spoken we shall do!” (Exodus 19:8). This group was the unfaithful. Their unfaithfulness was like an adulterous wife, so Moses imposed upon them the test of an accused adulteress – a sotah (Numbers 5:16-28). Please refer to http://wp.me/p158HG-EN. Moses had the unfaithful group drink some special water with which he had mixed in the defiled sparkly dust from the ground-up Golden Calf. This was meant to incite the people to confess their sin and truly turn from their wicked ways. Only those who worshiped the Golden Calf and did not confess their guilt had died like an unrepentant sotah who was guilty.
All of us have gone astray in one way or another, but never forget that we have an incredible Lord and Savior Messiah Yeshua who bore our griefs, our sorrows, our transgressions, our iniquities, our misery and our pain: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:4-6 NKJV). He is our sin-bearing Messiah who has made a way for the repentant when there was no way.
Don’t let the offering for sin of the soul of our loving Messiah be for naught (Isaiah 53:10-12). Remember that “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8-9 NKJV).
The Days of Elul – the Season of Teshuvah – will always be connected to the Sacred Cow Catastrophe with Moses laboriously standing in the gap, so God would not wipe out the nation that He took out of Egypt (the world) so they could truly worship Him. Today is the day for repentance: “Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days” (Hosea 3:5 NKJV). “Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.After two days He will revive us;On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.His going forth is established as the morning;He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth” (Hosea 6:1-3 NKJV).

If you are turning more and more to the world (but have a heart for God’s love to meet you in your place of error), be encouraged. Redemption is near. It is at hand. It is as close as your next decision or choice. Go to the Lord and be honest with Him. God knows your heart. Tell Him your struggles. Start right where you are at. Confess to Him whatever is true for you; and then, ask for His assistance. If you are unsure where to start, start with something simple. Start with something like: “I want to turn to you, Lord, but I have failed so much it feels hopeless,” or simply “Help me, I want to turn to you.” When you and I start from a place where we are honest with ourselves and God, we are positioned where the truth can set us free, as we choose Him and His ways to the best of our ability.
Life and blessing are in the returning. “Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. … ‘For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?” But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. ‘See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them’” (Deuteronomy 30:1-6,11-20 NKJV).

It is extremely significant that Moses spent the days of Elul, which is our modern day forty-day Season of Teshuvah (Repentance), fasting and writing out his side of the ketubah (marriage contract) to God: “HASHEM said to Moses, “Write these words for yourself,’ for according to these words have I sealed a covenant with you and Israel.’ He remained there with HASHEM for forty days and forty nights – he did not eat bread and he did not drink water – and He wrote on the Tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments” (Exodus 34:27-28 Tanach).
A major way that I will meditate on God’s Word is to slowly write out Scripture, as I am checked in to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I have many journals to testify to this fact. Sometimes we talk and sometimes it’s a telepathic connection, but understand I am not merely interested in words and concepts. My utmost interest is to get to know Yeshua Ha Machiach (Jesus Christ) personally and His beauty-filled ways. It is truly about the ultimate heart and mind connection. One of the most incredible and weighty compliments that the Lord has ever given me is saying: “You are a woman of My Word.” If you peered inside my journals, not only would you see Scripture, but you would also see that I wrote down any revelation that flowed along with various pictures to encapsulate what I comprehended. It is an excellent way to stimulate my recall.
Somehow, I believe that all this was at work when Moses climbed the Mountain of God the second time to get a second chance at the ketabah – the Marriage Contract between God and man. The first time God had gifted the Ten Commandments, which was written by the finger of God on two sapphire cubes. These are the “Tablets” that Moses supernaturally broke at the foot of the mountain due to the incident of the Golden Calf: “It happened as he drew near the camp and saw the calf and the dances, that Moses’ anger flared up. He threw down the Tablets from his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain” (Exodus 32:19 Tanach).
The second time the ketubah was not exclusively the handiwork of God. Man – Moses – had to do his part by carving out two stone cubes that God would then inscribe. How critical that there are two sides to any marriage contract. The second ketubah was forged between God and man.
I believe that Moses heartfelt agreement cause him to somehow write these same words, either physically, mentally, or spiritually, as Exodus 34:27 suggests. As Moses wrote the words for his ketubah with God, he deeply meditated upon every jot and tittle written. Moses contemplated what God meant by this word or that, and its connection to other things. Moses also deliberated about what was his part (how could he and his people keep their side of the marriage contract with the Most High God).
Why I say this is, because Moses did not return the same after his second trip up Mount Sinai. Sure. Moses was placed in the cleft of the rock to be shown His Glory, but his encounter with The Rock of Israel would not have happened without Moses personal and deep-felt connection to His Beloved – the Word of God.
We should use this as a template for every Season of Repentance since this was the very first occurrence. After Moses spent forty days and forty nights in God’s Presence in prayer, fasting, writing, and mediation, he was shown God’s Glory and overflowed with His Dwelling Presence (i.e., Shekinah): “When Moses descended from Mount Sinai – with the two Tablets of the Testimony in the hand of Moses as he descended from the mountain – Moses did not know that the skin of his face had become radiant when He had spoken to him” (Exodus 34:29 Tanach).
This Season of Teshuvah let us make it our goal to ascend God’s Mountain to spend so much time in His Word and in His Presence that we fulfill our side of the ketubah with God. Thus, we will be like Moses where we are transcendently sustained and filled with His Shekinah Glory.

The Days of Elul begin sundown on August 7, 2021, which marks the beginning of a 40-day Season of Repentance (teshuvah). This is a time to return home. This is a time to get one’s spiritual house in order by seeking His face and humbling oneself in the sight of the Lord with a broken and contrite heart (II Chronicles 7:14; James 4:6,10; Psalms 34:17-19).
The Hebrews say that this 40-day Season of Teshuvah has its roots in the second time that Moses went up Mount Sinai to receive the second set of the ketubah (marriage contract), which is also know as the Ten Commandments. The reason that this second chance is so important is that God reconsidered wiping out His entire nation (except Moses) after they had worshipped the infamous idol of the Golden Calf. Significantly, God relented due to Moses pleading for grace, grace, grace for His people. Once Moses attained God’s favor, he ascended God’s Mountain on Rosh Chodesh Elul – the beginning of the Hebrew month of Elul – and he descended forty days later on tenth day of Tishri, which concludes on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). Due to the incredible forgiveness God granted to His set-apart nation for the grievous sin of the Golden Calf, the Hebrews sometimes call the Season of Repentance – Yemei Ratzon (יְמֵי רָצוֹן) – “Days of Favor.”
The whole wide world is need of this kind of forgiveness and favor again in our day. Not only do the vast majority of God’s people literally repeat the worship of the Golden Calf annually; but few humble themselves, pray and seek His face with the purpose of turning from their wicked ways.
I urge everyone to not let this divine opportunity pass you by. Perhaps, this Season of Repentance could be your last chance in the land of the living to restore your broken relationship with God and your fellow man.
Remember that each and every one of our days are in the hands of the Lord, and He protects those He considers righteous. Just do not make the mistake of assuming you are righteous. That is what deluded people do. The problem is that we don’t know if we are deluded or deceived until we have had our light bulb moment, which seems to happen once we have chosen to humble ourselves, or after some difficult life circumstances have humbled us. The essential ingredient for the solution to deception is humility, which means destroying your own wall of self-protection. You can choose to simply humble yourself by truly asking the Lord if He considers you righteous and wait for His answer. Or, you can seek the Lord, like King David did, and ask God to search your heart to see if there be any wicked way in me: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting: (Psalms 134:23-24 NKJV).
I know way too many people that believe that they are righteous when, in fact, they are not… and they are even leading others astray. Self-deception need arrogance (pride) to be kept in place; therefore, the solution is always choosing to be humble and teachable before God and man with a repentant heart.
Today is day that life and death as well as blessings and curses are set before us. Let us each choose this day whom we will serve – the Most High God or ourselves (Deuteronomy 30:14-20).
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down;Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture,And the sheep of His hand.Today, if you will hear His voice:‘Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,as in the day of trial in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me;They tried Me, though they saw My work.For forty years I was grieved with that generation,’ And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,And they do not know My ways.’So I swore in My wrath,‘They shall not enter My rest.’” (Psalms 95:6-11 NKJV).
Let us enter our Promise Land, which is our Sabbath Rest who is our Maker. Never forget that He is our Sabbath rest, and we are His. His favor is for life (Psalms 30:5)!

Manifesting sonship is where the rubber hits the road. We so need to tap into our heavenly positions granted to us IN CHRIST and make them our earthly conditions. Has anyone else noticed that a primary tool of the Antichrist System is mockery?
Mockery is an action word – a verb. To mock is to treat someone with contempt or ridicule. Please note that contempt is connected to wicked, prideful people: “When the wicked comes, contempt comes also;and with dishonor comes reproach” (Proverbs 18:3 NKJV). “Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You; Let the wicked be ashamed; Let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence,which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous” (Psalms 31:17-18 NKJV).
Please note that to despise, to disdain, to deride, to provoke scorn, willful disobedience, and open disrespect are literally the definition of the word “contempt” and “contemptuous.” Are you getting the picture?
To mock someone is to deride them in an attempt to disappoint their hopes and dreams. To mock someone is to imitate their mannerisms closely in order to mimic them, to poke fun at them, to have sport with them, or just plain old derision. To deride someone is to laugh at them contemptuously. This derision uses bitter ridicule to show scorn or contempt. Ridicule implies a deliberate and often malicious belittling. It is no coincidence that ridicule goes hand-in-hand with scornful mocking, which is often ironically expressed by someone who thinks that they are better than someone else. “By pride comes nothing but strife” (Proverbs 13:10 NKJV).
I have heard that when someone mocks another person, they are insecure. Sure. Insecurity and false humility are simply the other side of pride’s two-edged sword of haughtiness and arrogance.
I have been on the receiving end of lots of mockery and contempt over the years. Now, I actually see mockery as one of the signs of hitting the bull’s eye of our Heavenly Father’s heart and will; because the enemy seems to pull out mockery when they are attempting to shut down God’s people. If you have the fear of man instead of the fear of God, mockery will shut you down. However, I have learned as I press onward and upward toward the highest mark of God in Christ Jesus, I simply see mockery as a crucifixion tool that is an answer to my daily prayer that I be humble and teachable before the Lord. When you look with the right perspective, mockery can be a good instrument of the cross for one’s flesh where one can choose to die to all fear of man and anything not resonating at the frequency of God’s Word. You have heard the saying whatever doesn’t destroy you, make you stronger. I choose to be stronger in Him and not myself. Mockery is fuel to the refiner’s fire, which burns off things that does not keeps me humble.
Remember, we have good company when it comes to being on the receiving end of mockery, ridicule, and contempt. King David was so inundated that he dedicated an entire psalm/song to it. Notice Psalms 123:4 tells us that contempt only comes by pride: “Unto You I lift up my eyes,O You who dwell in the heavens.Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,so our eyes look to the Lord our God,Until He has mercy on us. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us!For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.Our soul is exceedingly filledwith the scorn of those who are at ease,with the contempt of the proud” (Psalms 123:1-4 NKJV).
We all need to take our thoughts and words captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor 10:5). If you catch yourself making fun of someone else by mimicking them with scorn and contempt, you first have to recognize its not right before you can quit participating in these wicked ways. The enemy uses mockery to get people on his side through them siding with their carnal sensual nature.
Just keep in mind that mockers can always be recognized by their fruits of pride, sensual lust, and self-focus. They cause division and are not OF the Spirit of the Living God: “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.’ These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that THERE WOULD BEMOCKERS IN THE LAST TIME WHO WALK ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN UNGODLY LUSTS. THESE ARE SENSUAL PERSONS, WHO CAUSE DIVISIONS, NOT HAVING THE SPIRIT” (Jude 1:14-19 NKJV).
Since pride is at the root of mockery and contempt, both of their cure is choosing humility through letting the Cross of Christ have its way in you and me:
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up: Do not speak evil of one another, brethren…” (James 4:7-11 NKJV).
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, andfollow Me.Forwhoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.For whatprofit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Orwhat will a man give in exchange for his soul?Forthe Son of Man will come in the glory of His Fatherwith His angels,and then He will reward each according to his works…’ ” (Matthew 16:24-27 NKJV).
