DAILY PSALMS IN GOD’S TEMPLE

King David designed the First Temple in Jerusalem through divine inspiration. King Solomon built it.

“All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the House of the LORD” (I Chronicles 28:19-20 _KJV).

According to the Book of First Chronicles, King David was primarily preoccupied with building and organizing the Temple. Not only did David gather all the material to build Solomon’s Temple, he also planned every single detail so that Solomon only had to carry out the work.

One of David’s significant works for Temple service was to divide the Tribe of Levi into twenty-four families who performed service in God’s Sanctuary according to lot, which means through seemingly random means God chose who He wanted to serve in His Temple and when.

The plan that King David got from God chose the Levites for three different functions:

For now, we will only focus on the Temple musicians and the Song of the Day that they sang. The psalms selected as the Song of the Day were chosen during a time when Israel was threatened with disaster (Suk. 55a).

(1) As Temple musicians, which were also divided into twenty-four classes (courses),

(2) As Temple servants, which were doorkeepers and overseers of supplies, and

(3) As judges and officials over Israel.

According to Hebrew history, a daily psalm/song were sung by the Levites immediately after the daily libation of wine. Please note that the offerings of Abel, Noah and Abraham were all a “satisfying aroma to God;” but after the sin of the Golden Calf, the Lord commanded the wine libations to be added to the continual daily offerings (Numbers 15:1-16).

Every psalm that was sung during the daily Temple Service was sung in three parts (Suk. iv.5). During the intervals between the three parts, the sons of Aaron – the Kohanim – blew three different trump blasts (Tamid vii.3).

The Daily Psalms that were sung in Solomon’s Temple according to the Lord’s leading via His servant David were:

1. On the First Day of the Week – Sunday – Psalms 24 was sung.
2. On the Second Day of the Week – Monday – Psalms 68 was sung.
3. On the Third Day of the Week – Tuesday – Psalms 82 was sung.
4. On the Fourth Day of the Week – Wednesday – Psalms 114 was sung.
5. On the Fifth Day of the Week – Thursday – Psalms 81 was sung.
6. On the Sixth Day of the Week – Friday – Psalms 113 was sung.
7. On the Seventh Day of the Week – Saturday (Sabbath) – Psalms 112 was sung.

These Davidic hymns and the vows of repentance that accompanied the sin-offerings were the only obligatory exercises in the First Temple. If the Lord our God felt these daily songs were that important in Solomon’s Temple, it will probably benefit His people to reflect upon them again in this volatile time when disaster seems to threaten the entire world, especially since the Tabernacle of David is being rebuilt in this Kingdom Day.

Let all His children sing to Him daily songs from our hearts that please His heart!

CREATION’S SYMPHONY SONG

Are you aware of the unique song of praise in every part of creation?

There is a beautiful little book called the Chapter of Song in which Hebrew Sages tell us that every part of creation sings it unique song of praise to God. Within this book, they compose each song of creation using one or more verses of Scripture. For instance, the earth says that it and its fullness belong to God. The stars proclaim that God alone made the heavenly hosts. The ant says that it shows the lazy person how much can be accomplished if he will but utilize the gifts God gave him.

God’s praises are sung by man as well as through the harmony of creation. When every part of creation perfectly works as God created it, creation’s perfect symphony song is sung. Personally, I believe that this is a major key to the new heaven and new earth manifesting in this Kingdom Day.

Mankind is the key ingredient in this creation mix. The culmination of creation is mankind made in God’s own image; and because of this, the purpose of creation is man. Just as the man was not created for the Sabbath, but Sabbath for man (Mark 2:27), so it is with creation. When a person perceives and appreciates the message (the song) of the sun, the earth, the tree, the flowers, the bees, etc., etc., etc., creation becomes the incredible symphony that God intended. However, when we see everything and don’t perceive its base reality, then the symphony of creation is playing for a tone-deaf critic. We must connect to the heavens declaring the glory of God and the firmament showing His handiwork for His Kingdom to advance in and through us (Psalms 19:1).

When mankind fails to see the truth of Christ within them and without, Creation’s Symphony Song remains unheard. Creation remains unfulfilled until there is a true manifestation of the sons of God who are led by the Spirit of God: “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19 _NKJV).

Mankind is meant to become just like our image maker. We are meant to become the conductor of Creation’s Symphony Song. The Book of Psalms is full of recognition of the harmony of creation. In this Kingdom Day, Messiah ben David is being crowned King of Kings in you and I first; and then, in all of creation. That is why all creation groans for the manifestation of the sons of God.

To a Hebrew, the time of the Messiah is by definition the era when the veils obscuring the Divine Presence are completely stripped away. This is when the insulation of this fallen world is removed, so everyone can feel His Presence. This is also when all nations will form a perfect and single union that performs the perfect will of God the Father, just like Messiah Yeshua – Jesus Christ – did (John 5:19).

May all creation sing of the glory of God and may all His children hear His heart in and through it.

Like the song sings: “We are the world. We are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let’s start giving. There’s a choice we’re making. We’re saving our own lives. It’s trues we’ll make a better day, just you and me.”

FLAMING ARROWS OF SLANDER

“Taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the FLAMING ARROWS of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16 _NASB).

Slander can be compared to an arrow; because an archer strikes without a victim knowing who hit them. The damage is inflicted from afar. The evil spread by a slanderous tongue attacks at a distance.  Slander can be further compared to flaming arrows; because its effects easily spread like fire. Recall how slander wreaks triple destruction on the one who speaks, the one who listens, and the one slandered. In these days of social media, there are typically many more people listening to and spreading slander (typically unbeknownst to them), which seems to be creating an unsettling and raging wildfire via the world wide web. We are literally witnessing the greatest deception and distortion of reality that this world has ever seen. This is the time to FIX your eyes upon Yeshua (Jesus) and ask Him to set a guard over your mouth.

Many moons ago, I saw in the Spirit many arrows coming out from a mouth.  Its tongue was like a bow while the arrows were destructive words. The Book of James is an excellent go-to reference when it comes to the tongue – a slanderous tongue or otherwise: “For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defies the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell” (James 3:2-6 _NKJV).

Once we sin with our words, we cannot call back an arrow once its released. Rabbeinu Yonah elaborates in the Gates of Repentance that slander outweighs the worst sins, even the three cardinal transgressions of idolatry, illicit relations, and murder. One reason slander is considered so egregious is that even when the slanderer wishes to repent, they must ask forgiveness of all who have suffered from their damaging remarks. Besides probably not knowing everyone the slander influenced, there is the additional issue of having to admit one’s slanderous remarks when the victim is probably unaware of you kindling the fire.

Thank God He is able to clean up our sinful messes: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).  Always remember that we all have our part to play. Confession doesn’t exonerate us from doing the right things, like repentance, recompense, restitution, etc.

One of the things that kept King David so humble was having to constantly deal with slanderous tongues. King David has this to say about the man – Doeg the Edomite – who slandered him to King Saul, which caused Saul to hate and pursue him: “Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah. You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and uproot you from the land of the living, Selah” (Psalms 52:1-5 _NKJV).

David always sought to apply any lessons to himself first:  “I said, ‘I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me.’ I was mute with silence I held my peace even from good; and my sorrow was stirred up. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue: ‘LORD, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. SELAH. Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them. And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You’” (Psalms 39:1-7 _NKJV).

King David’s shield of faith was that he knew that his hope was in the Lord of Love alone. May all of our hearts cry: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalms 51:10 _NKJV). Stopping slander starts with ourselves.

SLANDER WREAKS TRIPLE DESTRUCTION

With everything flying in the air these days, the Lord has been speaking to me about slander. As with all good and godly lessons, this one is starting at home (i.e., with me). Due to the fact that I cannot know all the facts in most situations, I have been being convicted about how many times I possibly falsely thought or said something due to my own perceptions.

My handy-dandy Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (10^th Edition) first defines “slander” as an action word – a verb – saying that slander is to utter slander against, or to defame (to disgrace, to harm the reputation by libel or to slander, to accuse, or to malign). The noun form of “slander” is defined as stumbling block : the utterance of false charges or misrepresentations which defame and damage another’s reputation : a false and defamatory oral statement about a person.

Slander wreaks triple destruction on the one who speaks, the one who listens and the one slandered. Not only is this triple threat possibly deadly for all involved; but the speaker of the slander digs a deeper hole, as they bear false witness, which can be a slippery slope into a pit for all involved, if we don’t take our minds captive to the obedience of Christ (II Cor 10:5) and put a guard on our lips (Psa. 141:3).

We should all take note that slander checks off items on the list that God hates: “These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren” (Proverbs 6:16-19 _NKJV). Lying tongue. Check. False witness. Check. Sowing discord among brethren. Check.

I don’t know about you; but my soul has been sooooo grieved at how much slander is flying about during this season in history. I sooooo long for the righteous judgments of the Messiah and His Kingdom.

Please remember that “of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the Throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:7 _NKJV). Kings and priests of the Order of Melchizedek increase His government and peace when we each tackle this giant called “slander” in our own mind and life, so that the kingdoms of this earth can become the kingdoms of our God.

A continual test for King David, which kept him humble and teachable, was slander. How did David deal with slander? One of the ways was how he focused first thing in the morning and each night before he laid down to sleep. Every morning David engaged God first thing through prayer, because his personal relationship with God was foremost. Every evening David chose to forgive his enemies for any wrongdoing before he laid down to sleep in peace.

May we have a heart of David. “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer” (Psalms 19:14 _NASB).

SET MY NATIONS FREE!!!

“He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, ‘But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.’ I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance’” (Psalms 2:4-8 _NASB).

The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) is also the Feast of the Nations. A little touted aspect of the Feast of Tabernacles is that all the nations of the world are called to join Is-real in worshiping God. Did you know that 70 bulls used to be sacrificed daily during Sukkot according to the pattern designed by King David and carried out by his son Solomon?

Seventy is a significant number when it comes to the nation of Israel and the nations of the world. When Jacob and his family went to Egypt, there were 70 people (Exodus 1:5). We are told that it was in Mitzrayim (i.e., the Land of Egypt)that they became a nation.

Not only are the nations of the world connected to the Feast of Tabernacles through the sacrificing of 70 bulls during the week of Sukkot, but the nations of the world started out as seventy nations that were disbursed from the Tower of Babel.

Scripture tells us that the Feast of Tabernacles will be celebrated by all the nations of the world during the Messianic Age (Zechariah 14:16-18). This Biblical promise can be traced back to God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3, as it is written: “And I will bless whose who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Yesterday was the right time during the Feast of Tabernacles for the Judge of the Universe to proclaim: “Set My nations free!!!” This holy judgment was stacked on top of many scrolls written in heaven in order to join the things that Messiah Yeshua and His people have already established on earth, as it is in heaven. Behold, Yeshua’s golden scepter has come down and touched the earth to set His sheep nations free. Be bold and join Him in crying out for the redemptions of the nations.

“Let My people go, that they may hold to a feast to Me in the wilderness” (Exodus 5:1).

“Let My people go, that they may serve Me” (Exodus 8:1).

Let My nations free!

MYSTICAL GUESTS DURING SUKKOT

There is a custom in Hebrew households to invite the “ushpizin” (mystical guests from the Great Cloud of Witnesses) during the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). There are traditionally seven of these mystical guests – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aaron and David – where a different guest (i.e., ushpiz: אוּשְׁפִּיז) enters the sukkah each night of Sukkot. The Hebrews welcome each guest by offering them a place at their table. This is similar to the tradition of putting a place at the Passover Table for Elijah.

This year our tenth School of the Firmament class was held during Tabernacles. Since we are delving into the Ascension Songs of David, we invited King David to our banqueting table in our spiritual sukkah. We were so touched with David sharing his heart with us through some psalms that he wrote. Deep called to deep, as our supernal friend David was so vulnerable with us. Words don’t quite explain it. It’s like we sat down with a new-found friend that we felt we knew all our lives.

I would highly recommend that you and yours invite these immortal heroes of the faith to your table during The Feast too.

TABERNACLES IS A FEAST OF THE LATTER RAIN

The Feast of Tabernacles is a Feast of the Latter Rain.

The former rain is connected to the Biblical Feast of Passover while Tabernacles is connected to the latter rain. Hosea tells us that the coming of the Messiah will be as the former and latter rain: “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth” (Hosea 6:3 _KJV).

There are several pictures associated with rain in Scripture. Teaching the pure and unadulterated Word of God is likened to rain as well as the Word of God itself:

“Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak; and let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, as the droplets on the fresh grass and as the showers of the herb” (Deuteronomy 32:1-2 _NASB).

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My Word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing in the matter for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11 _NASB).

Not only is the Word of God likened to rain, so is righteousness: “Sow with a view of righteousness, reap in accordance to kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD until He comes to rain righteousness on you” (Hosea 10:12 _NASB).

Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the rain of the Word of God (since He is called the Word of God in Revelation 19:13) and the refreshing rain of righteousness. Yeshua says that He desires that we drink the water that He personally gives: “But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become to him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14 _NASB). Since water takes on the characteristics of the things influencing it, Yeshua is speaking about Himself… the giving of Himself… the giving of eternal life.

Yeshua is the living water whose streams make glad the City of God. He is the latter rain, and He is so good that He answers His people with rains of righteousness: “By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation, You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea; Who establishes the mountains by His strength, being girded with might; Who stills the roaring seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples. They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy. You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; the stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth. You water its furrows abundantly, You settle its ridges, You soften it with showers, You bless its growth. You have crowned the year with Your bounty, and Your paths drip with fatness. The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing. The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are covered with grain; they shout for joy, yes, they sing” (Psalms 65:5-13 _NASB).

The latter rain speaks of many things, not the least being the goodness that comes from being rightly connected to the Messiah with the fullness of life He brings. Therefore, “Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up. TABERNACLES IS A FEAST OF REST

When I was talking with the Lord this morning, He reminded me that the Feast of Tabernacles is all about fulfillment – filling up the dwelling places of God in this world’s wilderness. It about His dwelling places – you and I – being in a place and space of rest.

This was confirmed by the first post I saw: “The Feast of Tabernacles is a Feast of Rest… The Feast of Tabernacles… The Feast of the Open Book… the Bible is going to be opened… mysteries in the Bible will be revealed. It is the Feast of Rest, the Feast of Glory. It is called the Feast of Restoration, the Feast of Ingathering and the Feast of His Appearing.” (Paul Keith Davis)

In this Kingdom Day, the Dwelling Place that He is building up in the Spirit is the New Jerusalem, which is connected in Scripture to a new heaven and a new earth as well as the Bride of the Messiah: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Behold, the Tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them” (Revelation 21:1-3 _NASB).

I wrote an article many moons ago about fulfillment being a place of rest => https://sapphirethroneministries.wordpress.com/2017/05/21/fulfillment-is-a-place-of-rest/. In it, I reveal that “the disannulling of the commandment going before” in Hebrews 7:18 KJV is not what most people have been taught that it is. Basically, the prefix “dis” on any word means the opposite. Take for instance that “dislocate” is the opposite of locate, “discredit” is the opposite of credit, and “discontinue” is the opposite of continue. Therefore, “disannul” should be the opposite of annul.

When one dig deep into the root of the word “disannul” in Hebrews 7:18, you will discover an amazing reality and picture of a worship-filled rest position in Christ.

So, when you think of God’s Dwelling Place in the Spirit and it’s connection to the Feast of Tabernacles, remember that Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). He filled it up full of meaning. Let’s walk like Yeshua walked. Talk like He talked. He was/is not legalistic. He was/is righteous, just and holy. Yeshua was not full of unsanctified mercy. He personified perfect peace, love and kindness that leads us on His path of righteousness for His Name’s Sake.

I believe that it’s very important that this year’s Feast of Tabernacles began on His Seventh Day Sabbath – His day of rest according to Scripture. May you and I press into the glorious reality of the Feast of Tabernacles being a place of your and His worship-filled rest.

TRIPLE THE JOY!!!

There are three pilgrimage feasts mentioned in the Word of God: Passover (Pesach), Pentecost (Shavuot), and Tabernacles (Sukkot). A pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred space and place. The prophetic picture that we have in Scripture is the Hebrews (ones who have crossed over) go up to Jerusalem for the three pilgrimage feasts that we are told are His feasts forever.

In our day there is a higher reality becoming manifest – the New Jerusalem. We will go into this subject more throughout the eight-days of the Feast of Tabernacles.

For now, let’s meditate on the fact that all three pilgrimage festivals are said to be joyful occasions. However, the verb “joy” (שׂמח) is repeated three times with regard to Sukkot. The fact that Sukkot has a triple command to rejoice indicates that the joy of Sukkot is higher than that of the other festivals. This is one of many reasons why Sukkot is also called “the season of our rejoicing” (זְמַן שִׂמְחָתֵנוּ).
