NOTHING IN THE ARK EXCEPT …

There was nothing in the Ark of His Presence except the Ketubah (Marriage Contract) between God and Is-real. By the way, when I say Is-real, I am reaching for a deeper truth, which includes the eternal reality “to the Jew first” : “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith’” (Romans 1:16-17).

When the House of the LORD – Solomon’s Temple – was finished, Solomon brought in all the things his father King David had dedicated for this holy endeavor. Then he assembled all the all the congregation of Is-real to Jerusalem during the Feast of Tabernacles to bring up the Ark of the Covenant out of Zion (2 Chr. 5:2). As King Solomon and his people gathered before the Ark, great sacrifices took place to prepare for the Ark of the Covenant to be brought to its place (2 Chr. 5:7).

We are told “There was NOTHING IN THE ARK EXCEPT THE TWO TABLETS which Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of Egypt” (2 Chronicles 5:10). All the priests were present when the Ark was brought to its place in the golden Holy of Holies. They had sanctified themselves without regard to divisions (2 Chr. 5:11). They were one priestly body standing east of the Altar with 120 trumpeters. Those not blowing shofars were praising and glorifying the LORD with song as one voice (2 Chr. 5:13). Once they sung: “He indeed is good for His loving kindness is everlasting” (2 Chr. 5:13), the House of YHVH was filled with the cloud of His Holy Presence, so much so that the priests could not stand to minister because the golden glory of YHVH filled His House (2 Chr. 5:14).h

This is the goal in this Kingdom Day as well. As we agree with conditions of the covenant to marry Him and dedicate ourselves to the LORD Most High exclusively, there is nothing in our heart except the pure and perfect resonance of the Word of God that restores the whole person (Psa. 19:7). This is the sound of renown of the congregation of kings and priests assembled to bring up the Ark of His Presence from Zion into its place within you and me. These are the ones singing the praises of YHVH. These are the ones glorifying the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord with one voice.

“Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face and I heard a Voice of One speaking” (Ezekiel 1:29 _AMP).

LACK NOTHING IN THE WILDERNESS

God’s people lacked “nothing” in the wilderness because God was with them: “Indeed, your God יהוה has blessed you in all your undertakings. [God] has watched over your wanderings through this great wilderness; your God יהוה has been with you these past forty years: you have LACKED NOTHING” (Deuteronomy 2:7 _{The Contemporary Torah, JPS, 2006}).

The Jewish Sage Rashi questions the phrase “For the Eternal thy G-d hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand,” since their blessings were heavenly blessings and they did nothing with their hands that it be blessed! Rashi says perhaps the expression “in all the work of thy hand” alludes to the sheep and herds which they brought out from Egypt (Exo. 12:32). Ramban adds that they also had riches, herds, and acquisitions from the spoils of the Egyptians and the spoils of Amalek. Moreover, the Eternal One “hath known thy walking through this vast wilderness” and He supplied you there with all your needs — the manna, the quails, and the waters of the well — so that “you have lacked nothing.”

Genuine believers will all go through wilderness experiences to test us and humble us, so that we can know what’s in our hearts. The wilderness is a place of supernatural sustenance where the Lord is with you. He knows all the 5 Ws – who, what, where, why, when – and the 1 H – how – we walk through our trials and tribulations in our God ordained wilderness.

This is when we can receive the golden encouragement of “it is written”: “But He knows the way I take; when He has tries me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more then my necessary food” (Job 23:10-12).

MIRACULOUSLY SUSTAINED IN NOTHING

In God’s wilderness, “nothing” reveals His Bride is taught to lean on her Beloved: “Who is this coming up from the wilderness, Leaning upon her beloved?” (Song of Solomon 8:5).

In this place, the only thing that sustains the Bride of Christ is manna: “But now our whole being is dried up; there is NOTHING AT ALL EXCEPT THIS MANNA before our eyes!” ⁷ Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. ⁸ The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil. ⁹ And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it” (Numbers 11:6-9).

The Deuterocanon Book of Wisdom gives us more details about this nourishing dew from heaven: “Instead of these things, You gave Your people messengers’ food to eat. And You provided ready-to-eat bread for them from Heaven without toil, Having the virtue of every pleasant flavor, And agreeable to every taste. For Your nature showed sweetness toward Your children, While that bread, serving the desire of the eater, changed itself according to every man’s choice. … For the creation, ministering to You its Maker, Strains its force against the unrighteous for punishment And slackens it on behalf of those who trust in You, for kindness. Therefore at that time also, converting itself into all forms, it ministered to Your all-nourishing bounty, according to the desire of those who had need. That Your sons, whom You loved, O LORD, Might learn that it is not growth of crops that nourishes a man, But that Your word preserves those who trust You” (Wisdom 16:20-21,24-26).

When Yeshua (Jesus) was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, the tempter first challenge was about sustenance during a time when Yeshua’s physical body was on the edge: “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread” (Matthew 4:3). Do you remember Yeshua’s response? He quoted a verse about manna. “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4).

Yeshua’s manna quote came from Deuteronomy 8:3. Moses told all Is-real: “Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. ² And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. ³ So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. ⁴ Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. ⁵ You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you. ⁶ Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him” (Deuteronomy 8:1-6).

May you and yours be humble and teachable, so that you may lean on our Beloved and you may know that you are sustained by every word that proceeds from the mouth of I am that I am.

NOTHING HIDDEN

Nothing in heaven or earth is hidden from the scorching reality of our Heavenly Bridegroom’s eyes, heart, and way. “Nothing” reveals the Bridegroom coming out of His chamber with His fiery golden stream of the Word going throughout all the earth.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. ² Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, ⁵ Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. ⁶ Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat” (Psalms 19:1-6).

His golden measuring line is the sure foundation – the precious cornerstone – that has been laid in the far north – Zion (Isa. 28:16-17; Psa. 48:1-2; Heb. 12:22-29).

The process of a person aligning to the pure resonance of the Word converts one’s soul, brings wisdom, rejoices one’s heart, enlightens one’s eyes, and cleanses from secret faults: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; ⁸ The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; ⁹ The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. ¹⁰ More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. ¹¹ Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. ¹² Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. ¹³ Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression” (Psalms 19:7-13).

Let the Word full of grace and truth be made flesh in and through you (John 1:14). “¹¹ Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. ¹² His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. ¹³ He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God” (Revelation 19:11-13).

DO NOTHING OF MYSELF

Messiah Yeshua and His multimembered body do nothing. When believers abide in the Vine of Christ, we walk as He walked, which means we do what He did (1 John 2:6). “Nothing” speaks of only seeing, hearing, and doing the perfect will of our Heavenly Father.

“Then Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can DO NOTHING of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner’ ” (John 5:19).

“I can of Myself DO NOTHING. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me” (John 5:30).

Please note that John 5:19 emphasizes the Son (sons of the Living God) doing what He SEES the Father doing while John 5:30 focuses on judging as He HEARS. Isaiah 6 shows the prophet SEES the Lord seated upon a throne where He is high and lifted up, and His train fills the temple. Then, Isaiah HEARS the voice of the King saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Isaiah’s heartfelt response was: “Here I am, send me!” The kings and priest made after the Order of Melchizedek see, hear, and understanding the Father, as their hearts sincerely draw near.

This is when people operate from the place where Father has taught them: “Then Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I DO NOTHING of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him’” (John 8:28-29).

The word “taught in John 8:28 corresponds to our flesh, our body, or a person. We could basically say we embody doing nothing, which is what the Heavenly Father is announcing, carrying, publishing, or preaching through us when we obey His perfect heart and will. Messiah Yeshua (as well as you and I) are the good news sent by our beautiful and kind Heavenly Father. We tell of His good tidings of I AM that I AM: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can DO NOTHING” (John 15:5).

Therefore, “let NOTHING BE DONE through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself” (Philippians 2:3).

CHRIST IS MAGNIFIED IN NOTHING

Humility and a crucified life are in “nothing.”

Philippians 1:20 and surrounding passage has an obvious plain sense interpretation as well as some deeper waters: “⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, ¹⁰ that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, ¹¹ being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. ¹² But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, ¹³ so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; ¹⁴ and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.… ¹⁹ For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, ²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. ²¹ For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:9-14,19-21).

Our hope in “nothing” is Christ being magnified in our body. “For in Christ Jesus … avails … a new creation. ¹⁶ And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.¹⁷ From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” (Galatians 6:15-17).

In nothing, Christ is magnified personally as well as corporately in His multimembered body “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; ¹⁴ that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, ¹⁵ but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— ¹⁶ from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:13-16).

NOTHING – AWAKENING IN HIS LIKENESS

“Nothing” is the unfathomable place where judgment comes forth from His Presence: “Let my judgment come forth from Your presence; Let Your eyes look with integrity. You have put my heart to the test; You have visited me by night; You have sifted me and You find nothing; My intent is that my mouth will not offend” (Psalms 17:2-3 _NASB).

It’s where one is set free and made happy when they awaken in His likeness: “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness” (Psalms 17:15).

Rightness of speech, deliverance, and victory flows from this life-giving place: “All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them” (Proverbs 8:8).

Those who are in the name of the Messianic King receive covenant-keeping redemption and prosperity of God: “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death” (Proverbs 10:2).

NoThing is where we behold His face in righteousness. It is where we grasp the things that are right or just. This is where the Davidic King Messiah Yeshua and His Bride rules with righteousness and justice: “It says in Scripture, What is man and woman that you bother with them; why take a second look their way You made them not quite as high as angels,  bright with Eden’s dawn light; Then you put them in charge of your entire handcrafted world. When God put them in charge of everything, nothing was excluded. But we don’t see it yet, don’t see everything under human jurisdiction. What we do see is Jesus, made ‘not quite as high as angels,’ and then, through the experience of death, crowned so much higher than any angel, with a glory ‘bright with Eden’s dawn light.’ In that death, by God’s grace, he fully experienced death in every person’s place. It makes good sense that the God who got everything started and keeps everything going now completes the work by making the Salvation Pioneer perfect through suffering as He leads all these people to glory. Since the One who saves and those who are saved have a common origin, Jesus doesn’t hesitate to treat them as family” (Hebrews 2:6-11 _MSG).

May we all awaken in His likeness through receiving the righteous judgments from His Presence!

WANTING, FINDING, AND LACKING NOTHING

A hidden signpost that reveals a precious path for God’s Kingdom, which concludes in Bridal Oneness, is the term “nothing” in Scripture. Consider that the trying of our faith leaves us wanting, finding, and lacking nothing. This is the nothing that your earth hangs on. Notice that this is where the Bride of Christ is made perfect: “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4).

The word “perfect” in James 1:4 is the Greek word teleious. The word teleious (τέλειος) means something is brought to its end. It is finished. You are wanting nothing that is necessary for completeness. You are perfect. In the spirit, you are a full grown, full age, mature adult. You are complete in labor, complete in character, complete mentally, complete morally, and complete emotionally.

This is the ultimate perfection where one fully matures into the exact same image as Christ in just government and Christlikeness in rightness of speech: Upon attaining “nothing,” His Bride is found to be without blemish, fault, or defect: “No lie was found to be upon their lips, for they are blameless (spotless, untainted, without blemish) before the throne of God” (Revelation 14:5 _AMP).

Therefore: “Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves], That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world” (Philippians 2:14-15 _AMP).

It is time for Bridal Hearts to consummate oneness with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (John 17:22-23).
