GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR CELEBRATING PASSOVER

*** Returning to An Ancient Foundations by Doing What Jesus (Yeshua) Did ***

There are no set rules for how Christians should do a Passover Seder. Traditions can, and will, vary among families. Colossians 2:16 tells all of God’s people to not judge or criticize anyone about how they celebrate the Lord’s Feasts (i.e., Biblical Feasts).

Here is a “Basic Passover Seder Checklist” and following that are three different suggestions on how people may choose to celebrate Passover.

[1] BASIC PASSOVER SEDER CHECKLIST:

• Table usually set with one’s best dishes, tablecloth, two candles and a low floral arrangement.

• Handout of the Passover Story (Haggadah) – It is suggested to have copies at each setting or every other, but you can even pass one copy around.

• Three plates: [1] One plate with THREE MATZAHS (unleavened bread). [2] One SEDER PLATE containing (This is the plate pointed to as the Passover Story is told): shank bone of a lam (we do a chicken leg bone), boiled egg, bitter herbs (usually horseradish), haroseth (compound of fruit, nuts and wine), green vegetables (usually parsley or celery). [3] One plate with SALT WATER (or vinegar) in a bowl on it.

• Wine cup for Elijah (remains untouched unless Elijah shows up)

• Wine or grape juice enough for all guests (1-4 glass for each individual)

• Bitter herbs, haroset, matzah and green vegetables are given to each guest as well as being used as a Seder Plate Example.

• For each Table Setting you will need: Plate, silverware, napkin and a wine glass

• Dinner Optional (My family & friends simply love to dine together and feast somewhat like Yeshua did). Here are some suggestions:

1. Leg of Lamb & Mint Jelly or Beef Stew
2. Haroseth (recipe to follow)
3. Matza Ball Soup as well as a gluten-free alternative
4. Veggie Cassarole
5. Arugula & Pear Salad
6. Roasted Squash
7. Macaroons
8. Matza Brittle
9. Add your own personal or ethnic touches and make this Passover Celebration personal and your own.

NOTE: My family chooses to do the Step-by-Step Passover Story (Haggadah) to experience the three Passovers of the Eternal Now, which is experiencing the past (the Exodus Story of Deliverance), present (Yeshua’s Crucifixion), and future (Feasting in the Kingdom) all at the same time.
