CELEBRATE HIS RESURRECTION!!!

Sundown tonight (04- 17-2014) marks the actual day in history that Yeshua (Jesus) rose from the dead – 17th of Nisan. It just so happened that on the year of His crucifixion, Yeshua’s resurrection happened on the Feast of First Fruits (Bikkurim), which is not always the case. Please allow me to explain.

Passover is an eternal feast set every year that always falls on the 14th day of the first month – Nisan (Aviv or Abib). The 14th of Nisan is the actual day in history that Yeshua died on the cross. If we count 3 days and 3 nights until His resurrection, we calculate that He rose from the dead on the 17th of Nisan.

I don’t always communicate clearly that the 17th of Nisan is not always the Feast of First Fruits. Due to Bikkurim fluctuating in that it’s the day after the weekly Sabbath after Passover according to Leviticus 23:11, the 17th of Nisan is not always the Feast of First Fruits. This year is a case in point. Passover (Pesach) began sundown Monday – April 14, 2014. If we count 3 complete days and nights, we come up with sundown tonight as the actual anniversary date for the Messiah Yeshua’s resurrection, but Bikkurim will not begin until sundown Saturday, April 19th.

So even though Yeshua HaMachiach rose from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits in the first century being the first fruit of many brethren, the Feast of First Fruits in a given year is not necessary the actual day in history He rose from the dead.

I have asked Him many times why He made His calendar so complicated at times, like starting a Biblical month by the new moon or a floating date for the Feast of First Fruits. What I hear every time is that He wants us to not lean on our own understanding, but to look to Him the Creator of all things, including His setting the marks of time for man.
