BE AN ESTHER

Be an Esther.

Be a mighty man or woman of valor who overcomes by the Blood of the Lamb, the word of your testimony, and not loving your life even unto death (Rev 12:11).

Just prior to Esther going before the king (her husband) into the inner court to prevent the annihilation of her people, she said: “Go, gather together all the Jews who are present in Shushan the palace, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day; I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and then I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16 Aramaic). Esther did not love her life even unto death. The mighty man and woman of valor are doing the same in our day.

Since Purim is in the Bible (an entire book), it is a Biblical Holiday. Esther is the hero in the Purim story, but an entire nation of faith-filled people were the spiritual power behind her. May the amazing and supernatural turn of events in Esther’s day be ours as well.

Highly recommend that you read the story of Esther during Purim. The Megillah of Esther is one of five megillahs (i.e., scrolls) included in the canon of Scripture. The Song of Songs (Shir HaShirim), Ruth, Lamentations (Eicha), Ecclesiates (Kohelet) are the other four megillahs, but Esther is the only one that the Jewish people commonly read from a handwritten parchment scroll.

The Esther Megillah is considered holy. One of the reasons it is considered holy is that this book does not mention God’s name. Hidden under the drama of evil plotting and political intrigue, God’s hand is in it all. Hindsight reveals that God Himself put a queen (His queen) in place to stand in the gap. Just like Esther, the Bride of Christ is currently preparing to go before the King of Kings “for such a time as this” on behalf of mankind. If God’s people who are called by His Name fast, repent and pray, things will fall in place. We shall all be saved, as the Hamans will hang on their own gallows.
