DAYS OF AWE – HEBREW LIVING LETTER FLASH CARDS SPECIAL

The final ten-day period beginning on Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets – Leviticus 23:23-25) and ending on Yom Kippur (Leviticus 23:27-32) are known as the High Holy Days, the Awesome Days or the Days of Awe (Yamin Nora‘im). Five days after Yom Kippur is Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles).

TIME OF TESTING & EXPOSURE

Can you feel it? Are you experiencing the time of testing and exposure?

Did you know that we are currently in the Days of Elul on the Biblical Calendar? Elul is the sixth month on the Biblical Calendar that has been set aside for spiritual preparation for His High Holy Days. These are the days for His heavenly high and holy spotlight, which exposes what is hidden in you and me and in the world. They are the days of repentance (teshuvah) for the humble. They are the days of judgment for the proud (which are always redemptive in nature).

Some believers in Yeshua (Jesus) negate most things in the Old Testament, including His Biblical Calendar; but I am here to tell you that our Hebraic roots are very important and have a significant part to play in this Kingdom Day. Just because you negate something in your mind and practice, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are no longer subject to His sovereign borders and boundaries on earth, like gravity, seed time and harvest, and His times and seasons.

The Lord has tasked me to write about His Biblical Feasts, which He calls My Kingdom Feasts. I’ve told Him I don’t know what that looks like, so He has been showing the MM Tribe and myself through various Ascension in Christ experiences as well as through Hebrew History and Scripture what He means when He says: “My Kingdom Feasts.”

Every year, there’s a Season of Repentance on the Biblical Calendar that runs from the first day of Elul to the Biblical Feast of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). This teshuvah season lasts for 40 days. It’s the time of year to prepare for the Yamim Nora’im – The Days of Awe – by getting your house in order spiritually and physically.

Why 40 days? First of all, the ultimate mission for true believers is to walk in the same manner as Yeshua did in order to press on toward the goal for the highest calling of God in Christ Jesus… to become exactly like Messiah Yeshua (1 John 2:6; Phil. 3:14). Yeshua spent 40 days in the wilderness before coming out completely filled with the Holy Spirit, which is the fullness of the Seven Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2). His Bride does the same until she is completely filled with these seven too. “Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved?” (Song of Songs 8:5).

If we include Hebrew His-Story, we understand that these 40 days of repentance are also called the Yemei Ratzon (Days of Favor) since during this time of year God forgave His nation for the sin of the Golden Calf.

The Hebrew Sage Rashi reveals that Moses ascended Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights at least three times.

Moses first ascent began on the 6^th of Sivan, which was 50 days after The Exodus. This is when Moses first received the Ten Commandments – God’s Marriage Covenant. This time on God’s Biblical Calendar corresponds to Pentecost (Shavuot).

Recall that when Moses descended from Mount Sinai, he was furious when he saw the nation worshiping the Golden Calf and he smashed the original copy of God’s marriage covenant to God’s people, which Moses could not have been done without supernatural assistance due to their supernatural nature (Exo. 32:19). According to Hebrew History, this happened on the 17^th of Tammuz, which has been a date of national calamity for Is-real ever since.

Moses burned the Golden Calf the following day and God’s judgment came upon the instigators and transgressors. When Moses was finished cleaning up the Golden Calf mess on earth, he ascended Mount Sinai again on the 19^th of Tammuz to intercede on Israel’s behalf for 40 days until the 29^th of Av. Note: Moses descended the mountain at this time without any divine assurance.

Then God called Moses the following day on the 1^st of Elul to ascend a third time to receive a second copy of God’s Marriage Covenant (Ten Commandments). This time Moses additionally received revelation of the Torah (i.e., first five books of the Bible) for 40 days and 40 nights. With God’s assurance of forgiveness and a second set of sapphire tablets, Moses’ finally descended Mount Sinai the third time on the 10^th of  Tishri – the Day of Atonement.

Notice God’s Marriage Covenant via the first set of the Ten Commandments was broken due to the Golden Calf. Most believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have erred in the same way in our day. SABBATH QUEEN WITH NO SIN

I have been contemplating why the Day of Atonement is one of the Fall Feasts of the Lord, which rehearses Yeshua’s second coming. I was also profoundly struck by the fact that Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) is on the Sabbath this year. Even though the New Moon Kararite Calendar says that Yom Kippur starts Sunday night the 5th of October, I felt the Spirit leading me to celebrate today (on Shabbat) in accordance the Jewish Calendar. In fact, He had me drop all other things to do so.

Since Yeshua is the embodiment of at-one-ment, how can this feast represent something in the future – something associated with the Second Coming of the Messiah? What I felt the LORD told me is that the Sabbath is likened to a Queen and His Bride who will literally be pure and spotless in this prophetic seventh day.

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) is known by the phrase “face to face.” Since the veil was rent in God’s Temple in Jerusalem after Yeshua’s crucifixion, all those who have received the most precious gift of the Lamb of God sacrifice have access to the other side of the veil. Before this time the High Priest had to go behind the veil of God’s Temple once a year, and the whole nation would hold its breath because their fate depended upon God accepting the sacrifice. At this point, the High Priest was “face to face” with the mercy seat of God, which can also be translated the seat of atonement:

“For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then FACE TO FACE: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known” (1 Corinthians 13:9-12).

Making atonement for the people means cleansing them from all their sins. Are you and I sinless yet? Not yet, but His pure and spotless Bride will be! As priests of the Most High God after the Order of Melchizedek, it’s our role to enter beyond the veil and bring a heavenly revelation of what it means to be without sin on earth in our day. We must go back to the beginning – to the perfection before imperfection was. We need to present that reality in this world and materialize it into our nature, so that eventually corruption can put on incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:53).

The Order of Melchizedek is the predecessor for the Bride. It prepares the Bride. All those who have entered the Kingdom of God must be the royal priest that shepherds their inner Fire Bride forth.

We are in the prophetic seventh day, which can be called a prophetic Sabbath Reign. Since we have enter a Sabbath Year as well this year called the “shemitah,” I think that we should pay attention to the ancient analogy of the Sabbath being like a bride. Let’s listen to a Hebrew Sage named Abraham Joshua Heschel:

“The Sabbath is a bride, and its celebration is like a wedding. … Just as a bride when she comes to her groom is lovely, bedecked and perfumed, so the Sabbath comes to Israel lovely and perfumed, as it is written: “And on the seventh day He ceased from work and rested” (Exodus 31:17), and immediately after we read: “And He gave Moses ‘kekalloto’ ” [the word ‘kekelloo’ means when he finished, but it may also mean] as his bride, to teach us that just as a bride is lovely and bedecked, so is the Sabbath lovely and bedecked; just as a groom is dressed in his finest garments, so is a man on the Sabbath day dressed in his finest garments; just as a man rejoices all the days of the wedding feast, so does a man on the Sabbath; just as the groom does no work on his wedding day, so does a man abstain from work on the Sabbath Day; and therefore the Sages and Ancient Saints  called the Sabbath a bride. There is a hint of this in the Sabbath prayers, In the Friday evening service we say Thou hast sanctified the seventh day, referring to the marriage of the bride to the groom (sanctification is the Hebrew word for marriage).” [The Sabbath by Abraham Joshua Heschel, Chapter 5 – Thou Art One, pg 47-48.]

May this particular day commemorating Face To Face find you coming together at a His particular time at His particular place to be married. Here’s to corruption putting on incorruption — the very DNA of God!!!

TABERNACLES – THE GREAT SALVATION

The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) completes the sacred festivals of the seventh Biblical month. As mentioned earlier, Sukkot is called the “Season of Our Joy” after a season of repentance (teshuvah) and redemption (Yom Kippur). The joy of Sukkot was so great that it became known simply as “The Feast.”

If you want to wish someone a Happy Sukkot in Hebrew, simply say “Chag Sameach!” (Happy Holiday). The Hebrew word “chag” comes from the Hebrew root “chagag,” which means to move in a circle, to march in a sacred procession, to celebrate, or to dance. Earlier we spoke of the water pouring ceremony, and the priests circling God’s Altar in a procession singing Psalm 118:25 for six consecutive days. On the seventh day of Sukkot, instead of the priests circling God’s Altar, the people circled the Altar seven times. As all of God’s people circled the Altar, they cried out: “Save now!” seven times. This is why the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles is called Hoshanah Rabbah – The Great Salvation or The Great Hosanna.

When Yeshua (Jesus) was on earth, the water drawing/pouring ceremony experienced a quantum leap. The name Jesus went by, as He walked the earth, was the Aramaic name “Yeshua.” Yeshua in Hebrew means salvation. So when Isaiah 12:3 was quoted: “As it is written, ‘Therefore with joy shall you draw water out of the wells of salvation,” its literal fulfillment stood before Is-real’s eyes. Then Yeshua spoke John 7:37-38 on Hoshana Rabbah – “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believes on Me, as the Scriptures has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

In this Kingdom Day, the Great Hosanna is taking another quantum leap. Not only is the Head of the Body of Christ pouring out the jewels of the rivers of living waters, so is Christ’s Mature Body. It’s time for the springs of the great deep to burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens be opened.

TABERNACLES – HIS DWELLING PLACE

The temporary dwelling places (sukkot) built during the Feast of Tabernacles remind God’s people of the clouds of glory that surrounded Is-real during their wanderings through the desert on their way to the Promised Land: “And the Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night” (Exodus 13:21 NAS). 

It was a miraculous life. As His people journeyed through the wilderness, their clothes never ever wore out. Image that for a moment. Forty years of walking in a hot and dry land, and your shoes look and feel perfect. It sounds like a heavenly foreshadow of “who is this that comes up from the wilderness, leaning on her Beloved?” (SS 8:5).

Everyone who desires to be part of His Pure and Spotless Bride has wilderness experiences. Everyone. Notice how there is a fairly quick transition from the High Holy Days – Days of Awe – with their somber mood of repentance and judgment to one of rejoicing and celebration. Tabernacles with its command to build a sukkah (plural sukkot) and make it their home is not called “The Season of Our Joy” for nothing. Rejoicing and joy is intimately connected to the Bride of Christ: “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels” (Isaiah 61:10 NKJV).

It is not a coincidence that the period between the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) and the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) is the same period that marks the beginning of the construction of God’s Tabernacle – the Mishkan – sanctuary in the desert (Exodus 25:8-9). According to Hebraic Tradition, Moses ascended Mount Sinai the second time for 40 days and nights to receive the second set of tablets. He carried them down the mountain as a sign of God’s forgiveness for the sin of the Golden Calf on Yom Kippur. These Ten Commandments were in actuality a marriage contract with Is-real. The following day Moses told the people about God’s instructions for building a Dwelling Place (Exodus 35-36:1-7).

Therefore, the various iterations of God’s Dwelling Place are connected to His marriage contract. What was promised at Sinai is being realized in our day. In this Kingdom Day, we as His Living Stones, are being built into the greatest Dwelling Place of all – the New Jerusalem where: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be their God… Come here, I will show you the Bride, the Lamb’s wife” (Revelation 21:3,9b).

CLEANSING OF YOUR SOUL – BOOK OF LIFE – DAY OF ATONEMENT

Did you know you are a letter of Christ; and that letter of Christ (which you are) can also be called a Book of Life? Did you also know that believers get a brand-new marker placed in their Book of Life (their scroll) during the Day of Atonement? Your new bookmark has to do with the cleansing of your soul.

The Feast of Passover marks the day of our personal atonement when the perfect Lamb of God was sacrificed in our place (Hebrews 4:16; Hebrews 6:13-20; Hebrews 10:19-22; Hebrews 12:24). The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is the day of cleansing for God’s nation and for His sanctuary. Or in other words, today the Day of Atonement is all about corporate atonement for the Body of Christ as well as the cleansing of our own personal souls.

If we believe that Scripture is the inspired Word of God, we need to consider that the Day of Atonement is a permanent statute (i.e., it never goes away): “For it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; and you shall be clean from all your sins before the Lord. It is to be a sabbath of solemn rest for you, THAT YOU MAY HUMBLE YOUR SOULS; IT IS A PERMANENT STATUTE” (Leviticus 16:30-31).

According to Scripture, forty days of preparation (40 days of repentance – teshuvah) are supposed to lead up the Day of Atonement. The final ten days of the 40-days of teshuvah are known as the High Holy Days and as the Awesome Days. (i.e., The Days of Awe). These 40-days of teshuvah are a period of consecrated time when we reflect on our walk with God and condition of our heart.

There is still great significance to the Day of Atonement, even after we accept that Jesus Christ died for our sins and our Heavenly Father rose Him from the dead. Our souls are complex. Ask any psychiatrist. There are multiple dimensions within each one of us. If you and I fulfill the Day of Atonement picture once a year, we will consecrate or cleanse more and more dimensions of our soul until one day we become exactly like the High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek.

Know that the Head of the Body of Christ – Yeshua – completely fulfilled the Day of Atonement as detailed in Hebrew chapters 9-10. If we are the Body… If we want to walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, and be just like Jesus, we will actually fulfill the audio-visual pictures portrayed in this feast too.

One of the pictures portrayed in Yom Kippur is that once a year the High Priest was face to face with the mercy seat of God. The mercy seat can also be translated as the seat of atonement. This is the place where Moses met God and spoke with Him face to face: “And when Moses was gone into the Tabernacle of the Congregation to speak with Him, then he heard the Voice of One speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the Ark of Testimony, from between the two cherubim; and he spake unto him” (Numbers 7:89). Do you want to hear the “Voice of One” speaking to you from off the mercy seat? Your soul will have to come face to face with the hottest blue flame that sits above the Mercy Seat.

Unlike other days, the High Priest had to bath his entire body before going into the Holy of Holies. Other occasions only required that he wash his hands and feet. Why the greater cleansing? For the first earthly High Priest – Aaron – this meant he had to be absolutely clean in order to make atonement on behalf of the people. For Yeshua, it meant that He was absolutely clean, perfect, and without sin when He made atonement by sacrificing His Body on a tree. For believers in Yeshua, it means that we are washed by the regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit as well as washed by the water of the Word of God, as we humbly approach God (Ephesians 5:26-27; Titus 3:5).

I see this as being sanctified entirely – body, soul and spirit: “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23 NASB).

This is confirmed by the various “threes” portrayed in Yom Kippur.

• Scripture says three times: “And this shall be to you a law for all times: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month you shall practice self-denial” (Leviticus 16:29; Leviticus 23:27; Numbers 29:7).

• On the Day of Atonement, the High Priest appeared before the people three times and recited a confession before them. The first confession the people heard was for the High Priest’s own sins and those of his household. The second confession was for the priestly Tribe of Levi (i.e. the priesthood of God). The third confession was for the sins of all the people.

• The High Priest publically recited God’s Most Holy Name – YHVH – three times only on this day.

• During each confession, when the High Priest reached the recitation of the Name, all the people present would prostrate themselves and say out loud: “Baruch shem K’vod malchuto l’olam va’ed,” which means “Blessed be the Name of the radiance of the Kingship, forever and beyond.”

• The High Priest entered the Holy of Holies three times on the Day of Atonement. BTW – He had to be literally transformed to be the same frequency as the veil to enter into the Holy of Holies, because there was no door.

The triple entry into the Holy of Holies, triple recitation of The Name, and the triple prostration of all of the people permitted God’s people to begin afresh. Within is the seed for the restoration of all things when the Mature Head of Christ is attached to His Mature Body. All who are joined in Christ by the perfect bond of love will literally live and move and have their being in the One who was slain before the foundation of the world.

Jews believe that the Gates of Heaven are open during the Days of Teshuvah to receive the prayers for forgiveness and repentance, then they close after the final service of Yom Kippur. You will commonly hear that the Gates of Heaven are open on the Feast of Trumpets to let the righteous into heaven, and they remain open until the neilah (closing) service of Yom Kippur.

Since Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection, the Gates of Heaven are always open to receive prayers of forgiveness and repentance; but do not minimize the importance of this Awesome Day. There is a special grace available to all of God’s people for one day a year. There is a special grace on the Day of Atonement that allows humble people to progressively cleanse of their soul with the ultimate purpose of creating a Bridal Soul within you and me. This is the preeminent goal of all offerings by fire:

“On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is THE DAY OF ATONEMENT; IT SHALL BE A HOLY CONVOCATION FOR YOU, AND YOU SHALL HUMBLE YOUR SOULS AND PRESENT AN OFFERING BY FIRE TO THE LORD” (Leviticus 23:27 NASB).

“It is to be a SABBATH OF COMPLETE REST TO YOU, and you shall HUMBLE YOUR SOULS; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath” (Leviticus 23:32 NASB).

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB). 

Hear the Great Trump!

Let a new and more perfect bookmark be inscribed on Your Book of Life. Let us all press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). Let there be a greater cleansing for the pure and spotless Bride of Christ.

Prophetic Message in CO Flood

Something to consider: The floods in Colorado have happened around the Day of Atonement (i.e Yom Kippur). We had a break in the rainy weather from Friday afternoon to sundown Saturday, which is the actual time that people in Colorado would observe this Feast of the LORD Mountain Standard Time (Lev 23:2; 26-32). Thankfully, this allowed rescue efforts to begin. As soon as the Yom Kippur window closed, rains began again.

To me, it clearly communicates the need for the people of Colorado to repent. I believe that the LORD is showing us that 2 Chronicles 7:14 is something we need to do, not just talk about.

As I went to check on our animals in the storm, I understood that the rain in Colorado flows all the way to the Pacific Ocean on the West Coast and to the Mississippi River to the east, depending on which side of the Continental Divide it falls. America, when will we heed this message? “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chr 7:14 NKJV). Yah (God) has been speaking it for years.

Help us O LORD! Please grant us Your godly sorrow that produces repentance leading to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10).

BTW – I live 1 mile from a closed Hwy 34 where the devastating Big Thompson Canyon/River flooding is happening.

Bridal Feast – Yom Kippur

A feast that God says is My feast (Leviticus 23:2) is today. Yom Kippur — the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:26-32) — began at sundown.

The primitive root “ya-ad” used to define God’s fixed appointments with His people (i.e. the Feasts of the Lord) in 2 Chronicles 8:13 communicates that these are sacred times when God’s people are being summoned by Him to meet Him at His stated time, so He can direct us into a certain position. Why?

“Ya-ad” is also the word used when Adam intimately knew Eve. Doing His Feasts, His way, carries that same meaning, and literally allows Him to engage us for marriage. When I saw this in Scripture, I marveled at the thought and wondered: “Then how can we be His Bride without doing His Feasts?” The answer is we can’t.

So press into His love and grace, and answer Y-H-V-H’s summons. Ask Him how He’d like you to spend His special set aside day. A good place to start might be to dedicate this day to the Messiah sacrifice on the cross more fully by searching your heart and repenting for anyway you choose your way over His.
