HAVE WE ALREADY BEEN MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST?

Red Radiant

Good question! Here are two more questions to think about as well: If Christians have already been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus here on earth, then we need to ask ourselves: “Why don’t believers demonstrate His righteousness in all we do?” And why would Jesus tell us to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, if we already embody that reality (Matthew 6:33)?

Possibly the best way to answer this question is for you to know that all the Scriptures that contain “in Christ” are heavenly positions that we have access to when we first believe that Jesus came in the flesh and the Father raised Him from the dead. This is an incredible and wonderful reality! The LORD of LOVE also gives us an initial deposit of Himself (see below) here on earth, and it is our job (as good stewards) to grow that initial deposit, so that we can become (be made into) the exact same image as Yeshua. As I mentioned previously, the maturation steps for becoming holy, as He is holy are: [1] salvation [2] sanctification [3] purification. The process of fully becoming (i.e. manifesting on earth) the heavenly position fully paid for on the cross, which is the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, belongs in the purification stage of a believer’s walk. This is not always a clear-cut process, and sometimes our sanctification will bleed over into our purification. Another series of three to consider in all this is: [1] obedience leads to [2] righteousness, which leads to [3] holiness (Romans 6:16,19).

The verse about “righteousness” that Christendom tends to name and claim without realizing its full potential here on earth is 2 Corinthians 5:21. You’ve heard it touted, and it is a good and proper foundation that we all need to begin with: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” However, this verse does not say what’s being touted. It says: “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that WE MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM (2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV). The Greek verb for “might become” means to begin to be, to come upon a new stage in life, or the process of becoming (to undergo change or development).

Additionally, it is very helpful to understand “FULLNESS” in Scripture. Here are some previous posts about the concept of FULLNESS and the initial 10% DEPOSIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT we receive when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior:

The divine Melchizedek/Bridal journey will cause the 10% tithe of the Holy Spirit within His holy blood-bought vessels to grow in amount, magnitude, and degree to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ, as led by the Spirit of God according to the perfect will of the Father.

Romans 14:17 tells us that “THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS … RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE AND JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.” These three are spiritual dimensions within a person that the Lord seeks to grow within His Kingdom vessels. Remember how the STM Nov 20th post spoke about a DEEP RED mystery of His Kingdom that will be realized by His Crucified Ones (i.e., mature sons)? They will return to their primordial position where their body will be clothed in righteousness, their soul will be completely filled with the shekinah glory of God where it’s the permanent Dwelling Place of God (which is the fullness of the Seven Spirits of God as well as the Nature of Christ), and their spirit will be in constant communion with their Creator? (Refer to http://wp.me/p2k1dQ-jR) Know that one’s body can not be fully clothed with righteousness “UNTIL THE REDEMPTION OF THE PURCHASED POSSESSION (Ephesians 1:14), which from my studies I believe is the filling up of the soul of a person with the 100% fullness of the Seven Spirits of God, which is how Jesus walked in the nature of Christ on earth.

To Him be the Glory & may we first seek His Kingdom and His righteousness!

Fullness Deposit

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“I have all the fullness of Christ within me!” A supernatural calm came over me as a woman yelled in this in my face. I thought something like, “Major disconnect” and “Wow! The fullness of Christ doesn’t act like that.” I try to stay as teachable as possible, because I know that we can all err as Mark 12:24 puts it because we do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God. If you know of anyone who doesn’t have gaps in knowing the Scriptures or the power of God, I really want to meet them! In this Kingdom Day, we will each be filled with all the fullness of God according to the breadth, length, depth and height of the love of Christ in our lives (Ephesians 3:17-19).

This bizarre yelling encounter led me to study the word “fullness” in Scripture. Numbers 18: 27 sets a precedence for the word “fullness,” because the first occurrence in Scripture always does (BTW – It’s Strong’s OT:435 mel-ay-aw’). Numbers 18:27 is talking about the “terumah” in Hebrew, which is a heave offering. Basically, it’s a true contribution from the heart primarily. Yeshua (i.e. Jesus) is our heave offering (terumah) – a wholehearted contribution. Our Beloved Messiah taught that the terumah offering that Moses gave in Numbers 18:25-31 was essentially a willing heart; therefore, the congregation of the Living God is formed by having a willing heart… being wholehearted by having a heart to do the perfect will of the Father. If you and I are to walk in the same manner as Jesus did (1 John 2:6), we are to do everything with all our heart.

Let’s take a closer look at the context and background of the Numbers 18:27 “fullness:”

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak thus to the Levites, and say to them: ‘When you take from the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave offering of it to the Lord, a TENTH OF THE TITHE. And your heave offering shall be reckoned to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor and as the FULLNESS of the winepress. Israel Of all your gifts you shall offer up every heave offering due to the Lord, from all the best of them, the consecrated part of them.’ ” (Number 18:25-29 KJV emphasis mine).

A terumah is separated from the grain at the threshing floor and from the grape juice and/or olive oil as it ripens in a vat. In Biblical times, when the Levites received their 10% share from the other Israelites, it was required that they raise up their “tithe from the tithe” (i.e. “tenth of the tithe”) as a gift to God Himself before it was given to His priests. The “tithe from the tithe” had the status of a terumah, which meant that only a Kohen (descendant of the first High Priest Aaron) may eat it and it had to be kept in a state of purity.

Notice that the terumah applies to grain, wine and oil. The oil symbolizes the pouring out of the Spirit of the Living God while the grain and grape juice symbolizes Yeshua’s communion elements given first by a priest of the Order of Melchizedek (Genesis 14:18). The Old Testament terumah picture of the “tithe on the tithe” is a foreshadowing of the New Testament reality of the 10% earnest or deposit of the Holy Spirit that happens when by grace through faith Christ dwells in the heart of one who believes (Ephesians 2:8; 3:17):

Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the EARNEST OF THE SPIRIT” (2 Corinthians 5:5 ASV emphasis mine).

In  whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel  of your salvation : in whom also after that ye believed , ye were SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE, WHICH IS THE EARNEST OF OUR INHERITANCE UNTIL THE REDEMPTION OF THE PURCHASED POSSESSION, unto the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV emphasis mine).

Next time we will discuss the phrase “until the redemption of the purchased possession.” For now, let’s stand amazed at the deep meaning of the Hebrew Word Picture for the word “fullness” that was hidden thousands of years before Christ died for you and me on the cross, which puts an exclamation point to the 10% deposit (earnest) of the Holy Spirit Scriptures. The Hebrew Word Picture for mel-ay-aw’ “fullness” communicates that the water (i.e. the Holy Spirit and/or the Word) reveals the Shepherd (Yeshua) who shows us the Father. We should definitely raise our hands at the heave offering graciously given to us at the cross! Let’s worship the Lamb of God who is most worthy of our praise!

For those of you who are still wondering about our being filled with all the fullness of Christ, please remember that there’s a heavenly position of the 100% fullness of Christ and your manifest earthly condition of that heavenly position. Jesus Christ’s fullness of the Spirit was, is, and will always be 100%. Your fullness of His Spirit is not. Not yet, anyway. Any work of the Spirit in our lives grows as we obey the Father, and walk in the truth, faith and grace of the Son. Stay tuned, because a soon coming attraction is there is a Kingdom time and Kingdom place where “we all will come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph 4:13 KJV). Notice how it says “we all come… unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” because this is both an individual and corporate work of His Spirit by the Blood according to the Father’s heart.
