Walking with Yeshua (Jesus) requires that we walk in Spirit and Truth like He did.
This means that we each have to personally crucify our own flesh with its passions and desires: “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. … And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5: 16-17,24-25 NKJV).
Galatians 5:18 also tells us “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law;” and then, gives us a list of the works of the flesh that reveal conditions for anyone (including believers) for not inheriting the fullness of the Kingdom of God. “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in times past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV).
Our Beautiful Lord and Savior has made it so easy for us. He simply requires humility and honesty. We cannot explore the depths of the mystery of oneness with Yeshua, if we are unwilling to humble ourselves and sincerely ask Him: Do I have any of these works of the flesh in my life? Be sure to remain in a humble and teachable state as you wait on His reply. If he shows you something, that’s when you deny yourself this work of the flesh take up your cross (i.e., crucify this work of the flesh in you), and follow Him (Matthew 16:24-26). Remember, that anything that you are unwilling to look at, deny yourselves, and crucify in Christ is the very thing that you are exchanging for the total redemption of your soul.
Don’t forget that we are bringing ourselves as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2). I know that this may sound like Christianity 101, but it is always wise to practice the fundamentals of anything important. Every single soul is being called home at this time. Home is where His heart is. Yeshua’s heart is our home. This is the place where we walk with Yeshua as one. We just have to be there. “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4 NASB).
There’s a repeated theme in Scripture that many are overlooking in this Kingdom Day: To walk according to the Spirit, or to walk in the Spirit, we must not be walking according to the flesh. Therefore, we have to choose to be humble and teachable in order to be able to see our current reality. Once we truly see our current reality and we humbly react as His heart and Word leads, we will be set free (John 8:32).
It’s this walking with, in and through the Spirit of the Living God that elevates us to the place that is not under the law. It’s the place where people with an ever-renewing heart and spirit live and move and have our being in Christ alone (Ezekiel 36:26; Acts 17:28).
