KINGS & PRIESTS IN THE MIDST OF GOD’S KINGDOM

King/Priest by Ricardo Colon

What does it mean to be “in the midst” of God’s Kingdom?

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the Lamb on a throne. Worthy is the Lamb who has purchased for His Father men of every tribe, tongue, and nation, and has made them to be a kingdom of priests to our God. These kings and priests made after the Order of Melchizedek shall reign on the earth through their oneness with Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and the Heavenly Father. “Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.’ Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!’” (Revelation 5:8-12 NKJV).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom, God’s royal priesthood are a holy people. “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame. Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,’ and ‘A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.’ They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (I Peter 2:4-9 NKJV).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is God’s royal priesthood and holy nation who endure and remain firm to the end. “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’ And another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:6-12 NKJV).

Here’s to the righteous and faithful and true royal priesthood of One Love!

THE GREAT SHEPHERD IN THE MIDST OF GOD’S KINGDOM

Green Pastures by Yongsung Kim

What does it means to be “in the midst” of God’s Kingdom?

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the Lamb of God, who is our caring Shepherd, that guides us to the water of life. “For the Lamb in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them to springs of the water of life” (Revelation 7:17a). “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalms 23:1).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the Great Shepherd of our souls. “Now the God of Peace who brought up from the dead the Great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever, Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the appearance of the Chief Shepherd and crowns of glory His good shepherds. “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away” (I Peter 5:2-4).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom, the Good Shepherd self-sacrificially protects and provides for His people. “I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the Lamb in the midst of the Throne of His Heavenly Father. “And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth: (Revelation 5:6). “And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: ‘Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!’” (Revelation 5:13).

IN THE MIDST of God’s Kingdom is the overcoming Blood of the Lamb. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:11). “Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, ‘Sir, you know.’ So he said to me, ‘These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes’” (Revelation 7:13-17 NKJV).
