They don’t understand grace is a gift, not a way of life.
This phrase comes from a dear friend who was flowing in the Holy Spirit during a conversation about hyper-grace. She actually related that she heard from Yeshua: “They didn’t understand grace was a gift, not a way of life.”
“For by GRACE you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it IS THE GIFT OF GOD” (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV).
“But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the GRACE OF GOD AND THE GIFT BY THE GRACE OF THE ONE MAN, JESUS CHRIST, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:15-17 NKJV).
I love God’s grace!!! I speak “great grace” over people all the time and truly believe that we all need it! However, let us not think that God’s grace overlooks any sin in our lives: “Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to His holy people. I say this because SOME UNGODLY PEOPLE HAVE WORMED THEIR WAY INTO YOUR CHURCHES, SAYING THAT GOD’S MARVELOUS GRACE ALLOWS US TO LIVE IMMORAL LIVES. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. … Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, ‘Listen! The Lord is coming with countless thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.’ These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want” (Jude 1:4-5; 14-16 NLT).
Always remember that grace has a purpose, and that purpose is for obedience to the faith (gospel): “Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His Name” (Romans 1:5 NKJV).
“For I am jealous for you with jealousy of God Himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband – Christ. But I fear that somehow our pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel that the one you believed. … These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve” (II Corinthians 11:2-4,13-15 NLT).
“Now, may the grace and joyous favor of the Lord Jesus Christ, the unambiguous love of God, and the precious communion that we share in the Holy Spirit be yours continually. Amen!” (II Corinthians 13:14 TPT).
