HE IS MY SABBATH REST, AND I AM HIS

Resting Bride by Unknown Artist

Q: How do I become His Sabbath Rest?

A: I believe that becoming His Sabbath Rest will differ slightly for each person, even though the Biblical principles should be the same. When I speak of becoming His Sabbath Rest, it not something yucky and legalistic. It has been quite an organic process for me. The more time that I spend in His Presence and in His Word, the more naturally/supernaturally my body, soul, and spirit powers down and settles into the seventh day Sabbath when I surrender to Him and His ways.

Yes. I said, “the seventh day Sabbath.” Significantly, what I am experiencing resonates at the frequency of the Word of God: “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all of His work which God had created and made” (Genesis 2:2-3 NKJV). If you study each of the seven days of creation, you will notice that unlike the other six days, the seventh day was not closed, so that His people can enter into it by doing as He did – resting from all our work to get rejuvenated.

One of the most delightful books I have come across is Abraham Joshua Heschel’s book called “The Sabbath.” He shares: “The art of keeping the seventh day is the art of painting on the canvas of time the mysterious grandeur of the climax of creation; as He sanctified the seventh day, so shall we. … Our keeping the Sabbath day is a paraphrase of His sanctification of the seventh day.”

As believers know, Messiah Yeshua and our Heavenly Father are supposed to be a continual focus in our lives. On the Sabbath, I endeavor to keep Him my continual focus, even more; AND I rest in that relationship, seeking not to do my own thing: “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride in the high hills of the earth, And feed you the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken” (Isaiah 58:13-14 NKJV).

Practically speaking, I now see the process of becoming His Sabbath Rest, as a lovely weekly date with my Beloved. For instance, I will converse with Yeshua, as I take a leisurely walk, a nap, or a lengthy shower. I will sit quietly with Him with a cup of tea. I will read and meditate on His Word, asking Him to teach me. I will pray to Him, giving Him all my concerns. Sometimes, I simply ask Him what He thinks. Sometimes, all I can do is come to Him with a heavy heart and ask Him to hold me and help me. Most Sabbaths, I spend quite a bit of time staying in His arms, as we hold each other. It really is so wonderful and intoxicating. I know that I was born for this. To be in a oneness relationship with my Beloved.

Setting aside Friday night to Saturday night is a lot easier said than done, especially when most of society worldwide flows to a different rhythm. This is how I am striving to enter His rest and become His Sabbath Rest.

I am discovering a profound reality that the ancient saints called the Sabbath a bride. When the people of Israel stood at Mount Sinai, the Lord told them to “remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it” (Exodus 20:8). The Hebrew word for “to sanctify” is le-kadesh, which means to consecrate a woman to be betrothed.

The Hebrews have such an exquisite gem for humanity. The idea of the Sabbath as a bride has been retained by Israel in their hymn Lechah Dodi, which is chanted when they corporately meet together. Even the sanctification over the wine is explained that just as the wedding ceremony is performed over a cup of wine, so the Sabbath is “the bride that enters the chupah.” To this day the meal that ends the seventh day Sabbath on Saturday night is called “the escort of the queen.” The Sabbath represents a queen as well as a bride, which we are when we enter His rest.

May you enjoy your quest in discovering “He is My Sabbath Rest, and I am His.”

Give em heaven!!!

SHAVUOT SABBATH

Orti Martin - Arise

Behold, a new shift in Shavuot (Pentecost). Behold, on this 3,333 Shavuot the world is witnessing a greater fulfillment of the bridal three as one: The Word of God (Messiah Yeshua), the Holy Sprit and the Bride of the Messiah (Christ). The Spirit and the Bride are perfectly coming together as ONE with the Word of God.

The Word of God reveals that the first thing called holy is His Seventh Day Sabbath: “By the seventh day God completed His work that He had done, and He abstained on the seventh day from all His work that He had done. God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because on it He abstained from all His work…” (Genesis 2:2-3 Tanach). To be sanctified means to be set apart to a sacred purpose, to be free from sin, and to make productive of holiness. My Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary 10th Edition, also defines “holy” as being whole, exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness as well as venerated as or as if sacred.

“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your pleasure ON MY HOLY DAY, AND CALL THE SABBATH A DELIGHT, THE HOLY DAY OF THE LORD HONORABLE, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, not finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words. Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken” (Isaiah 58:13-14 NKJV).

What is the heritage of Jacob anyway? I always seem to gravitate toward Psalms 24. Notice how the highest hill and His holy place is mentioned: “Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. Selah” (Psalms 24:3-6 NKJV).

Shavuot is especially connected to the Seventh Day Transfiguration of Man due to Enoch. Recall that the man who “walked with God; and he was not for God took him” (Genesis 5:24) was born on the sixth of Sivan and he was taken up to heaven that very day. The sixth of Sivan is also the beginning of Shavuot (Pentecost) on the Hebrew/Biblical Calendar. Please refer to https://sapphirethroneministries.wordpress.com/2020/05/26/dwelling-presence-pentecost-enoch/.

We are currently standing in the place of “after six days” or the Seventh Day since the days of Adam. There was 2000 years between Adam and Abraham, 2000 years between Abraham and Yeshua (Jesus), and approximately 2000 years between Yeshua and the year 2000, which means we are standing in the place of “after six days.”

“And AFTER SIX DAYS Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brings them up a high mountain apart, and was TRANSFIGURED before them: and His face did shine as the sun, and His raiment was white as the light” (Matthew 17:1-2). The transfiguration of the Son of Man in Matthew 17 is simply a foreshadow for those who will literally become what they behold – a perfect reflection of Yeshua: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, WHEN HE SHALL APPEAR, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM; FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS. And every man that has this hope in Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.” (1 John 3:2-3). This not only requires that His people are able to see, hear and perceive from an elevated position, but we must also purify ourselves as He is pure.

It is significant that we are each a tri-parte being on earth – body, soul and spirit – on this 3,333 Shavuot. When we accept the gift of salvation by grace through faith, our spirit becomes seated in the heavenlies at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 2:6-10). We still live in earthly circumstances in our souls and our bodies; therefore, we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling in our soul and body. The good news in this hour is that our position in the heavenly realm, (that’s a free gift from God that has nothing to do with works) is quickly becoming our condition in the earth, as we surrender to His will and ways.

One cannot avoid the holiness of the Seventh Day Sabbath when one presses onward into the high calling of the Seventh Day Transfiguration of Man; because Yeshua Himself is our Sabbath Rest. If we want to enter His glorious rest, as the forerunner Enoch did, we must enter into the same rest that He did: “Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made” (Genesis 2:3 NASB).

Notice that when Yeshua ascended the “high mountain apart” that He took with Him the three disciples that were closest to Him: Peter, James and John. The perfectly pure light of the Seventh Day Transfiguration of Man is being offered to whosoever will… those who choose to forsake all, but Him… to be close and intimate. Let’s rest in His fire and become like Him!

Shabbat Shavuot Shalom!

Give em heaven!!!
