Repentance (teshuvah) was created before the world itself. “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God, Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men” (Psalm 90:2-3 Aramaic)
. Repentance carries a basic meaning of return. So before the mountains were born and before God brought the world into being, the Eternal God said return (i.e., repent). The Lord our God knew that the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world needed to be slain before the foundation of the world.
• “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you” (1 Peter 1:19-20 NKJV).
• “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 NKJV).
The Lamb slain before the foundation of the world clothed humanity with His sacrifice… the blood of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) before it all.
